-- Characters --
Name:
Alex "Bingo" Rivero
Age: 14
Type: Speed
Element: Water
Home: Neuo Town

Bingo is an absent minded, impulsive, and easily embarrassed teen. While some might see him as a bit of an airhead, over-eager to come off as cool, he has a great sense of adventure, empathy, and a mix of high awareness and intelligence. His speed typing is inherited from his mother.

He can perform a Kick Flip or Spin Attack to take care of airborne enemies. He can Spin Kick enemies or Slide Kick into them on the ground and gain extra speed down hills. His Splash Bounce allows him to get back to the air while achieving a greater height. Bingo is also able to utilize his Aqua Dash ability when he needs to keep things moving or Aqua Boost to maintain a top speed.

Name: Roy Cruz
Age: 15
Type: Power/Speed Hybrid
Element: Electric
Home: Neuo Town

Roy always tries to act smug and generally give Bingo and Salamon a hard time. Despite this, life tends to be rough for him. He typically acts as the "cool and tough" guy as a facade to hide his insecurities from others. All he really wants is to receive recognition from his community.

As a Power/Speed hybrid type, he can perform a Static Punch, either as a single strong move, or as rapid punches. If there are any airborne enemies, his Uppercut, enhanced or not, should handle them. If that's not enough, his powerful Meteor Slam will get the job done.

-- Elemental Charges --
There are four unique Charges you can find during your journey.
  • Electric
  • Wind
  • Water
  • Fire
Each charge will modify the moves and properties of Bingo and Roy*.

Electric Charge Bingo
Bingo's acceleration is increased and his Spin Attack and Dash is electrically charged!
-Spin Kick launches electric sparks
-Spin Attack becomes Electric Discharge
-Splash Bounce becomes Electric Stomp
-Aqua Dash becomes Electro Jump

Wind Charge Bingo
Bingo becomes one with the wind and receives floatier jumps.
-Spin Kick has increased range
-Spin Attack has increased range
-Splash Bounce becomes Wind Bounce
-Aqua Dash becomes Wind Launch

Water Charge Bingo
As Bingo's element is already water, this grants him element synergy and allows him to take more advantage of his abilities.
-Spin Kick launches water spouts
-Splash Bounce creates a bigger splash upon impact
-Faster underwater mobility
-Can stay underwater longer

Fire Charge Bingo
Bingo can heat up the competition with his enhanced fire attacks!
-Spin Kick launches fireballs
-Splash Bounce becomes Fire Dive
-Aqua Dash becomes Flame Burst
-Now feels extra warm for colder environments

* = Elemental Charges are currently disabled for Roy.
Note: If you are a streamer and are interested, please contact me for a streamer build that has the extra stage unlocked automatically.

Updates

As of the SAGE 2022 Build:
-NEW CHARACTER: Roy! Although he is missing a Special move and Elemental Charge compatibility, he is still fully functional for stage completion.
-The game now has an opening of some form.*1
-Due to Roy's inclusion, a Character Select menu has been introduced.
-Time Attack is now available. Think you can set some fast times as either Bingo or Roy?
-In the Stage Select menu, there are now stage previews with relevant stats depending on the game mode as well as separate tabs for Main stages and Extra stages.
-Bingo's Rolling ability has now been replaced with a Slide Kick.
-Bingo now has a new idle animation when there is no input.
-Bingo now has an animation for when a crate lands on his head while standing still.
-Verdant Valley now has an alternate exit route. Can you find it?*2
-The explosive barrels in Foreboding Format have had their hitboxes enlarged.
-There has been new level design additions for secrets in the Foreboding Format stage.
-Some sounds have been updated.

*1 = Due to time constraints, the opening is heavily abridged. I would have liked to have a full opening that offers a bit of story, but hopefully this will be complete in a future demo build.
*2 = As this new route is a Secret Exit, this would unlock a Secret Stage separate from the 10 medal requirement of the already existing Extra Stage. As the relevant Secret Stage has not been developed, this route only serves as an area to find more coins and enemies to increase your total score as well as some extra lives.

Latest reviews

Liked as usual! Game feels better this time around. I have played as Roy so far as I have already played Bingo previously.

Some things I noted:

-Roy's uppercut could use a bigger hitbox as it was hard to aim and actually hit enemies with.
-Texture page is flashing randomly in-game again.
-Slide kick is fun to use!
-It might help the punches on Roy to feel heavier if he stopped briefly in the air while using them, at the minimum, at least when he hits something. Aka. hitstun would be super nice.
-Conversely to the slide, the normal punch is not fun to use, because it instantly stops you but has a slow windup and just feels...sticky, less than punchy, feels slightly more like a hindrance.
-Hard to see underwater in the cave! A little too dark down there.
