I almost was going to rate it 4 because it has some minor problems but im just so impressed. The level design is complex yet simple and there's so many ways to travel. sonic just feels so good to control apart from when you're turning corners
sega should hire you man, this is so damn good, keep it up
I love this game! It's the true Sonic 4 when it's complete. You may say Sonic Mania is the true Sonic 4, but this game follows the triagly's tradition of a new character. They are both god tier though.
Review: I love this game I love playing as Tunnel. He has shortcuts that make you feel like speedrunner but there's no possible way I can speedrun. The 1st zone is very good in level design. The the sprites are very good. I can't wait for this to be finished.
That's it bye.
I've never played Sonic Robo Blast 2, before, but I can kinda feel it in this game's engine. For me and how I play 3D platformers, that's going to mean my review here might not be up-to-code, so to speak, since I'm learnign the engine fresh.
: Haven't you played SRBK2, dood?)
... High Points:
+When you can get used to how platforming works, it feels nice and fluid, traversing obstacles and destroying robots.
+I'm a sucker for forests, and the second stage feels especially nice~
-It's likely because I've never played SRB2 proper, but I had an especially hard time adjusting to the physics engine, especially for finite platforming. When moving on the ground, it feels fluid and graceful. In the air, on the other hand, it's incredibly stiff and awkward, especially if you have a lot of momentum. My issue ends up being that I can't seem to adjust to the sudden realism in aerial physics enough to make tight jumps, and as a result, over or under-compensate by a ridiculous degree.
-Play the second stage at absolute minimum quality, for the best experience. For reference, I have a B-tier HP Pavilion gaming rig and having the settings at second above minimum tanks the framerate and induces minor input delay. Go higher than that, and there can be up to a full 60 frames(one second) of delay, making platforming even more nightmarish. It's a shame, too, because the fog effects and the lighting on the trees(which I'm convinced are the cause of the issue) look absolutely gorgeous.
=Wait around for a minute in the opening area and check around the ruins lol
=I... managed to beat the boss, fling myself into the death pit, die successfully and clear the stage? Um... okay?
I love this fangame. The music is great, the artwork is outstanding, it even has a nice manual with really nice art too :)
The expressions are 10/10. The gameplay is great too, i'd say this game is pretty much perfect even if no game is perfect. It's really good and I have nothing bad to say about it, no oddities or suggestions. Just wanted to say I love this fangame.
Oh and I love the characters too!!! And Brock! Character design is a 10/10 as well.
I love how its got alot of neat collectable treasures too.
AND THE DIALOGUE IS AMAZING I LOVE IT.
I haven't Enjoyed a 2D-Hack and slash Platformer this much before, It's hard to believe that this is FAN made game. this has a lot of potential. I like the included 2 character with different play styles, I have played a lot of Alpha couldn't say the same for Cassie tho. Bug 1. I have encountered a performance Bug, During the Final boss of Mission 0, When the boss lands his missiles If you go to the pause screen at a certain frame, The frame will decrease drastically decrease. In my experience I was running the game at around 60 fps but when the bug accorded my performance drop to 1-2 fps. Note : My Laptop is considered a Low spec. 8gb DDR3, Core I5, Intel Hd graphic 4000. 2. Not sure if this was a visual bug or not but, If u stand and face directly to a wall and you should your buster with an equipped ricochet mod, the projectile will be stuck with in a wall. Questions
1, Do you ever planned with adding unique charge abilities to the Saber as well? like you did with the Buster? 2, I see a potential use of movement abilities with the Rocket Uppercut and the Charged Saber dash, Do you intend on using these abilities as a way to unlock Special Items, Secrets, Mod, Etc.? 3, As from my experience with the Special of Alpha Bar, It has a rather quick recharge this could turn down the game difficulty a bit by just spamming the specials but is needed because it also uses some saber skills, Do you plan on nerfing the recharge rate or reduce the skill cost consumptions?
People play games to escape reality, not be reminded of how horrifying it is. So piss off with your "wear a mask" shit, we fucking know already.
That said, this mod is awesome, definitely the best of the mod submissions for SAGE 2020. The music especially is godlike. Though the recycled bosses are a bit lame, I'd prefer the levels just end like Labyrinth Zone's acts do.
I'm sorta mixed on this, I don't want to be negative but it was really confusing on where to go. I like it overall but some sense of direction would be nice. Not much to say besides that, it's made on the Infinity Engine so it plays nice, looks great. Yeah, really say much.
Got bored of Original Games so I'm moving on to the Fan Games. Sage may be over but my reviews still aren't.
So now, to kick things off we have this game, A New Spark.
I couldn't complete this due to how hard it was to see what was up ahead, especially the auto-running part. This game has potential but still needs a lot more polish if it wants to succeed. I do sorta like this concept though, it's a mix of modern plus classic sonic elements. You have something going right here, but again, it needs polish.
The art design of this game is quite great, it's very colorful and nice. Can't say the same about the controls, level design, voice acting. As someone else said, it's difficult to control your character, difficult to tell what's a platform or not, and the voice acting, while not the worst thing, it could be improved on as well. What you have here is something promising, just need to iron out those issues, but do voice acting as the last thing since it's not really necessary at the moment.
