Pretty good. I've only played the main mode as Sonic, and it feels like a very complete game.

It feels faithful to the original games. It starts somewhat easy, and later stages can get more difficult if you have not collected all the chaos emeralds.

It would be nice to have a description of the difference between Original and Remake modes. Also, is the save stored? I want to back it up and move to a different computer.

Two minor "bugs":
1) Although Sonic can do the Super Peel Out move, Super Sonic can't. Okay, he doesn't need to and doesn't have any reason to, but it feels like an oversight.
2) Sonic sprite keeps shaking 1 pixel horizontally on those propeller-based slowly moving platforms.

It runs perfectly fine on Wine on Linux. I'm assuming it will run great on a Steam Deck.

This seems to work really well... everything I remember seeing in the SMS games is here, but with a better resolution and a little smoother, plus some new zones that fit in properly. I'm a little puzzled by Encore Mode... it seems that once a character dies, they're lost forever with no chance of ever getting them back, and once you're down to only one character, swapping monitors do absolutely nothing. I remember it being more generous in Mania. Mostly the non-Sonic characters feel very authentic, but Jungle Act 2 is clearly not built for any flying/gliding abilities, it only scrolls upwards when you land on floor. It's nice not having to worry about arrow monitors, but the question mark monitors were very confusing, I think once one took me back to a previous level.

Quick Question, so the SMS projects are all connected with a singular creator or group? So would it hypothetically be possible to implement the characters and swapping features (either in 2 or 3 character rotations) to be added to the other games. I was curious since Sonic 1 SMS is still being focused on, so recently could features such as playable Shadow, Metal Sonic, Amy, Espio, Vector, Silver, Blaze, and Rouge could be possible to implement?
