Get ready for a massive 2D Collectathon Platformer inspired by Super Mario 63!
Danger Cliff is a 2D Collectathon Platformer that harkens back to the golden age of internet browser games. You play as Clifford--an overwhelmingly positive young explorer--and his best friend Boxer who are one day exploring some ruins when Boxer's home starship gets blown out of the sky! With no one more competent willing to help, Clifford and Boxer volunteer to explore several huge zones in search of the ship's missing parts before whoever shot it down can get their hands on them.
Gameplay: In classic Collectathon style, you start off in a hub world with access to only one level containing several collectables. The more collectables you get, the more new levels you unlock. Eventually, you'll unlock a boss course which allows you to access a new floor of the hub on completion.
Cone Rush: Clifford's signature move! When activated, he will transform into a drill and fly in the direction pressed for a few seconds. This can be done once horizontally and once upward before needing to recharge by landing. Many of the game's challenges are too large to tackle with standard jumping, so mastery of the Cone Rush is critical! On top of that, there are additional moves such the Air Dash and Power Jump which are not required to beat the game, but allow skillful players to pull off some crazy tricks!
Content: The game contains 7 major courses, 9 smaller minor courses, and 3 boss courses spread across 3 floors. In addition, there are 7 endless challenge rush levels accessible on the 4th floor, boss fights in almost every course, as well as 6 harder boss rematches. And we can't forget the absolutely insane final boss and secret final boss. In total there are 100 collectables.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR STREAMERS AND VIDEO MAKERS: It has been found that the game tends to lag while recording at resolutions greater than 1920x1080. There is a patch in the works that will hopefully mitigate these issues, but for now please make sure you are playing at a 1920x1080 resolution for an optimal experience (I also recommend that resolution in general, as it was the resolution the game was developed for).
