Howdy pardner. I'm Fang...Fang the Sniper. I'm a bounty hunter, and I happen to have
found myself in this here book of Wild West frontier myths.

Right now, I'm heading into town to meet my least favorite client.
It's been a long journey and there's more ahead.

"Sonic and the Gunslinger" is a SRB2 mod inspired by the Sonic storybook games and with a Wild West theme.

Sonic Robo Blast 2 is distributed with the mod with the permission of the developers.

Note: Only OpenGL mode is supported. OpenGL is on by default.
Many levels have severe visual errors in software mode.

Note: Run the game from the .BAT or .SH file in the top directory.
Moving WAD/PK3 files can prevent saved games, models,
and default configuration files from working.

To rebind keys and add gamepad buttons, run the game and go to
OPTIONS > PLAYER 1 CONTROLS > CONTROL CONFIGURATION.

To reset to SRB2 default controls, run the game and go to
ADDONS > KEYBINDS > RESET_TO_SRB2_KEY.CFG

I haven't played SRB2 in close to 20 years at this point and it's crazy to see the kind of stuff that can be built with it now...

I really like the attempt at making this feel like a storybook game with adventure-ish gameplay, it worked really well imo.
Levels are fun to go through (except those water wheel jumps, incredibly painful even with the bubble shield :') ) and I appreciate the attempt at giving each sonic level its own small gimmick to keep things fresh.

Thank you! I have plans to adapt some of the levels as standalone levels for all characters, in the meantime Calamity Canyon is available here

This was pretty good. Longer than I expected, which was a nice surprise. The voice acting was a cool bonus, and all of it was pretty good. Jehtt killed it as Sonic, of course. But you took away my thok, which makes me upset. >:(
Also, I didn't like any of the stages where you had to kill everything to progress. They just felt like tedious busywork.

Easily my favorite surprise of this year's SAGE!!
Fantastic, fun, original, with a lot of surprises (including some nice story and decent VA).
