Does Sonic type using the home-row, or does he hunt and peck?

Me and my friend were having an argument over the better typing solution, using the home-row and hunting and pecking. He then used the argument, "Sonic uses the Home-Row keys!" I then told him that since Sonic's a Hedgehog, he would probably hunt and peck. Please help me decide this.
