SONIC ENTROPY

Sonic and his friends are relaxing by the beach when they hear
a loud bang in the distance. Sonic runs off to investigate...
There are Badniks flooding Lustrous Lavender Zone, out of nowhere!
Dr. Eggman has found some sort of mysterious energy to
power his new crazy schemes.

Classic Sonic Action
In this demo version, explore a variety of different levels
with Sonic the Hedgehog, able to bring out his
Spin Dash, Drop Dash, and Super Peel-Out abilities!

Mysterious 3D Realm
Explore the Special Stage: Practice Jam area to
hone your skills in a basic 3D enviornment.
Use a Warp Portal to teleport back to the main stage.
Perhaps Chaos Emeralds would appear in
such a space later on?

Test Your Limits
Challenge yourself to beat the levels
as fast as you can, or explore them
to find secrets!
Hop into the stars above a Checkpoint
to teleport to a Bonus Stage!
Find Elemental Shields in one,
and in the other, test your limits
in a race to earn an extra life.

Known Issues:
  • Game can crash from audio issues when starting to drown
  • Some sprites, like Sonic's corkscrew, and flipping around the vertical bar in Egg Entropy Zone, Act 1 need to be added/replaced
  • Main Menu shows default mapping for Scale Display as [F4], when it is mapped to [F]
  • Some colors on Spike Drop Zone, Act 2 need adjustment
  • Placement of moving platforms on Spike Drop Zone, Act 1 need adjustment
  • When facing left, Egg Robo badniks' laser beams spawn too far to the right
  • Saw Dude badniks' blades spawn too high
  • Placement of stage results not center-aligned
  • Only Sonic is avalabile in Special Stage: Practice Jam; accessing it as another character will display Sonic instead
  • Flame Shield lets you phase through swinging spike balls in Spike Drop Zone, Act 1
  • At times, Rings don't accumulate from Bonus Zones
  • At times, Rings = 0 after exiting a Bonus Zone

I think this game has potential. I liked Egg Entropy Act 2 and the zone before, but obviously, there are problems. Bosses are too easy, level design is ok. Good job.

This might be one of my favorites of the fangames this year, holy cow. Egg Entropy 2 alone sells it.

You might want to look into enabling other controllers besides just Xbox, my RetroBit Saturn USB controller didn't work on this one strangely.

Egg Entropy Act 2 with all the different zones blended together and the interesting background effects is a cool look! I wonder to what extent you could get away with focusing on that more for the rest of the game and throwing out some of the more generic, by the book zones with bizarre spring placement.

Playing this game shows me a story which I am very invested in. The levels seem to be a bit of a mess and are too short in some areas. I can see potential in the game from a story point of view and hope to see further development of this game :D
