General Information
PROOF-O: SUPER GODOTRIO (Version 0.1.0)
ABOUT
This is a small proof-of-concept (and a personal programming exercise) showing that it is possible make a 2D Mario platformer using Godot Engine. Perhaps this will encourage more fan game developers to use this tool, especially those who may think other tools are too daunting or too expensive.
The gameplay is mostly based on Super Mario 3D World and incorporates a few moves from it in the 2D Mario style. Unlike that game however, there is no traditional Super Mushroom health system; instead, you have a regular health meter like in the sandbox 3D Mario games. Includes basic enemies and items to interact with. I will be adding more, but don't expect a full game out of this.
CONTROLS
Move - Left/Right Arrow Keys (hold Z to run)
Jump - X
Crouch - Hold Down
Ground Pound - Down in Midair
Ground Pound Jump - Z immediately after Ground Pounding the floor
Wall Slide - Left/Right while touching a wall in midair
Wall Jump - X during Wall Slide
Spin Jump - C
Roll - Z while crouching
Pause - Enter
